Stay alert – Control the virus – Save lives

Stanhoe Parish Council Matters:–

  • Parish Council Meeting:– Your Council met again on July 9th by virtual teleconference and some work was done - the minutes will be on the website soon if not already.

  • Playground Closure:– We simply cannot ensure the necessary safety conditions currently sanctioned, accordingly in conjunction (but not collusion) with Docking and South Creake amongst others, the children’s play equipment on the playing field will remain closed. Should the restrictions be eased then signs will be replaced to advise users accordingly.

  • SAM 2 Sign:– The speed sign has been recommissioned and is now back in service. Monthly data are reported in the Council Meeting Minutes to be found on the stanhoe.org website.

  • Docking Recycling Centre. The facility has now reopened (although not for cardboard at the time of writing). A defibrillator has also been installed there; this is an item we had long considered having in the village.

  • Should you wish to raise any issue, please contact the Clerk on 07789 887380 or ‘parishclerk@stanhoe.org’.

Stanhoe open gardens:– a reminder

Due to the cancellation of Open Gardens in Stanhoe this year, it has been decided instead to have what we hope will be the first, and only “Virtual Open Gardens” on the stanhoe website.

The owners of the eight gardens which would have been opened are to submit photographs and descriptions of some aspect of their gardens to our webmaster, and we hope that the feature will be available to view towards the end of June, for those who are able to use the internet. There is a provisional plan to hold a public exhibition in the Reading Room later in the year, as well.

Cycling duo:–

Thanks to the ‘Cycling Austins’ for their information about Docking Tip reopening - details are included in the Parish Council matters.

Shop safely – wear a mask

And finally:– A couple puzzles to keep you busy:– apologies if the wordsearch is too small/fuzzy.
