Parish Council News:–
-
Japanese Knotweed etc:– It has been reported that there is an outbreak of Japanese Knotweed in the village (near the Duck Inn). We have spoken to the various relevant agencies and the Borough Environmental and Community Services have undertaken to take appropriate remedial action. There is also a report of Himalayan Balsam in the same area. Please report to the Council if you spot any further outbreaks of these pestilent growths.
-
Local Crime:– A representative of the Council attends the bi-monthly meetings of the Safer Neighbourhood Action Panel. The police services are keen that any criminal or suspicious activity is reported – please do not hesitate. Excluding an emergency, the first call should be to PC Emily Carter on 01553 665021
-
AGM:– Our thanks to the many residents who attended the AGM on May 11th. In addition to other issues raised, we will continue to work on the traffic calming measures discussed and report on progress.
-
Keep in Touch:– The Council would like to assist residents with respect to any issues or concerns relevant to the village. Please contact Wayne Leighton, Parish Clerk at parishclerk@stanhoe. org or on 01485 518570.
Stanhoe Gardens Open Day:–
Saturday 3rd June 2017 – Entry £5 for ALL gardens, children under 12 free
-
Ten gardens will be open in Stanhoe and Barwick on Saturday 3rd June, 2:00–5:30pm. All are welcome to come and have a look around and enjoy the various stalls: tombola, cakes, plants, books and bric a brac. Delicious cream teas will be served as usual at The Old Rectory.
-
An added highlight for this year is an Exhibition of Floral Art in the Church, kindly organised by new Stanhoe resident Laura Pocock of The Artmonger in Burnham Market, a percentage of the profits will go to the Church fund.
-
Last year the Open Gardens attracted more than 220 visitors, many of whom commented on the friendly welcome they received in Stanhoe! This is made possible by the enthusiasm of kind volunteers who offer their time on the afternoon to help out on the stalls and serve tea.
-
Can you spare an hour or so? If so please call Anne on 01485 518365. We are also always grateful for contributions of cakes, plants, books, bric a brac or prizes for our stalls – Anne would be delighted to hear from you and we are happy to come and collect. Proceeds from the day go towards repair works to All Saints’ Church. Thank you!
