WI notices:–
3rd December at 2:30pm in the Reading Room. Sue Elliott will demonstrate the craft of pewter moulding, with a hands-on opportunity for members.
11th December – our Christmas lunch at the King’s Head, Great Bircham.
Advance notice:–
Tuesday 19th January, 3:00 pm – tea at Costa Coffee on the Construction College site, close by in case of bad weather, a post-Christmas get together for a cosy chat over bargain drinks and cakes before facing up to 2016!
Thursday 4th February, 2:30 pm – WI meeting when Jonathan Holt, warden of Holkham Hall will talk about conservation work and more.
All our monthly meetings are open to ladies who may wish to visit, without obligation. Just come along – there’s no need to arrange it in advance. Bring a friend if you wish – and there’s no requirement to live in Stanhoe, we have members from several other villages.

Planning Application for Solar Farm:–
Renewable Energy Systems Ltd. (RES) who developed Jack’s Lane wind farm, has submitted a further planning application for the development of a solar farm at Hyde Park crossroads on the B1454 near Barmer.
The deadline for comments from members of the public is Tuesday, 24th November 2015 although comments may be accepted after that date.
The planning reference number is: 15/01701/FM and must be quoted on all comments submitted to the Borough Council.
Comments can be made online at: www.westnorfolk.gov.uk/online-applications or by writing to the Borough Council at: King’s Court, Chapel Street, King’s Lynn, PE30 1EX.
Stanhoe Christmas Food Fair:–
Saturday 12th December, 10:00am till 1:00pm in the Reading Room. The perfect opportunity to stock up on home-made Christmas goodies, including cakes, puddings, biscuits, sweets, jams, pickles, chutneys, pot-pourri and more! Coffee, tea and gluhwein will be served. Raffle. Entrance FREE, proceeds from sales will go to All Saints Church, Stanhoe, with a percentage to the MEHM Trust (Reading Room).
Has The Great British Bake-Off inspired you to experiment in the kitchen? Why not try some puddings, cakes, cookies or sweets with a Christmas theme and donate them to the Fair? All contributions will be very gratefully received! Please call Felicity on 01485 518363 or Jill on 01485 518269 if you can help. We will happily collect your offerings, or they can be delivered to the Reading Room on the morning of Friday 11th December.
Stanhoe Library:–
Coffee, Cake, Conversation & Books to Borrow every Tuesday from 10:00 to 12:00 at the Reading Room. Fun and Friendly! Everyone welcome. We will close for Christmas – last one Tuesday 15th December, re-opening Tuesday 5th January.
Parish Council Meetings 2016:–

- 12th May 2016 (followed by Annual Parish Meeting)

All meetings are on Thursdays and will be held at 7:00pm in the village hall with the exception of 12th May 2016 which will be at 6:00pm to be followed by the Annual Parish Meeting at 7:30pm.
Open meeting:–
On Thursday 7th January at 2:30 pm – Alan Frary, who is the coxswain of Wells lifeboat, will be talking about his work, life and experiences – everyone is welcome to attend at no charge. Stanhoe & Barwick WI will host this open meeting in the Reading Room, Cross Lane, and anyone can come along without obligation – male or female, young or not quite so young – this will be a fascinating afternoon. We also invite neighbouring WIs and other friends to our open meetings, so you won’t be “the only one”! Do come along…. .
Brancaster Camera Club:–
NB. There is no meeting in December.
January 2016 meetings:–
Tuesday 12th:– Help evening with DVD. A chance for club members to get help with their photography problems.
Tuesday 26th:– Print discussion between members.
