Jubilee Celebrations:-
John Seedhouse writes:-–Very many thanks to all those who attended, there were nearly 200 tickets issued and 40 took part in the Treasure Hunt. The weather relented for the day although it was still quite cold and the feed back has been excellent. To all those volunteers who helped to make the day a great success, a sincere vote of thanks and also to those who contributed goods or services without any charge. Individual thank you cards – too numerous to mention – have been sent out, I hope I have not missed anyone!
All souvenir mugs were either sold or given to eligible children, however 3 did not collect their entitlement. The day finished up with a Net Profit of £655 which will be distributed to the Donors: Stanhoe Parish Council, MEHM Trust, PCC, the WI and an anonymous donor.
Finally, a big vote of thanks to Elizabeth Thuburn who has put in numerous hours acting as an excellent secretary. A detailed account of Income & Expenditure is available for anyone requesting a copy.’
Further thanks:-
A very big cheer from the Carr household to the organisers of the Jubilee party for all their efforts: it was a wonderful afternoon, thank you. Sandra, John and Cameron Carr
The Reading Room library:-
Please note that the Reading Room Library will be closed for the month of August
The Stanhoe Flower Show 2012:-
It’s not long now until the 2012 Flower Show (4th August.)
In spite of the rain and the rabbits we are hoping for a good show with lots of entries for people to look at. The crafts people have been busy, and hopefully the cooks will be considering their entries. If you would like to take part but have mislaid your schedule another one can be obtained from the Show Secretary Rosemary Brown.
We hope that as many people as possible will take part and we look forward to seeing your exhibits at this fast approaching village event.
