MEHM Reading Room Library:-

The new Reading Room Library, an initiative of “The Friends”, is due to open for the first time on Tuesday 7th February 2012. Subsequently it will be open every Tuesday from 10: 00 until 12: 00 for villagers to come and chat over a cup of coffee, hear how the Library is growing and to choose a book to borrow.

A large number of books have been generously donated including some very special ones kindly given by the family of the late Reverend Robert and Mrs Joan Tomlinson. The existing bookcase is now overflowing so if anyone has some shelves or a bookcase which they no longer need it would be much appreciated if it could be given to the Library. (MEHM will collect) Volunteers to help occasionally with the Library would be most welcome.

Please contact Chris Drysdale on 517 040 or Pen Roche on 518 324

Wine tasting in the Reading Rooms:-

A proposed wine tasting evening is being planned for the 10th March in the Village Hall. It is proposed that this will be a –guided tasting’ event of about 7 wines (15 minutes per wine) Food will also be served with the wine – more information to follow nearer the date.

It is hoped that this will be the first of many social events to be held in the Reading Room.
