Stanhoe & Barwick WI News:-

We are always delighted to have visitors attend any of our monthly meetings. If you are interested in finding out more, please feel free to contact us, or just turn up to our next meeting, in the Reading Room, Cross Lane, Stanhoe. Meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month.

The Stanhoe Flower Show 2012:-

Do come along to the Flower Show on Saturday 4th August.

Please give in your entry lists before Wednesday 1st August, and bring your entries to the Reading Room between 9:00 and 10:00 am on Saturday 4th August.

We shall be pleased to see our usual happy band of people to view the exhibits from 2:00pm onwards. Entry is 50p for adults – children are free. There will be fruit, vegetables and flowers, flower arrangements, crafts, art and photos to look at. Refreshments will also be available.

The prize giving will be at 4:30pm followed by an auction of donated produce and the drawing of the raffle.

Everyone is welcome. Do come along and share in this enjoyable village event.

Stanhoe Village Screen:-

The cinema will start again in September. We have some great films lined up for the Autumn, including –The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel’ and –Salmon fishing in the Yemen–!

The Reading Room library:-

Please note that Tuesday 31st July will be the last Reading Room Library day until Tuesday 4th September.

Policing Survey:-

Norfolk Police Authority would like the views of people living in Norfolk on local policing matters to assist them and the forthcoming Police and Crime Commissioner in shaping Norfolk’s police service. A survey questionnaire has been posted on the Police Authority website; www.norfolk-pa.gov.uk/survey.cfm and the Authority encourages as many as possible to go on-line to complete the survey.

Free family advice and guidance:-

Norfolk Family Information Service (FIS) is Norfolk County Council’s online, telephone and face-to-face service providing support to families with children aged 0–18 or 0–25 for those with additional needs.

Information on offer includes:-

  • Advice on choosing and paying for childcare
  • Details of out-of-school clubs and holiday play schemes
  • Help for families of children with additional needs
  • Activities and advice for young people
  • Support for mums, dads, lone parents and parents to be

Brancaster Camera Club:-

Our Annual Photographic Exhibition will take place on Friday, Saturday & Sunday 10th, 11th & 12th August in Brancaster Staithe Village Hall from 10:00 am till 4:00 pm.

To be judged by Peter Yeo FRPS DPAGB APAGB (Sponsored by Fotospeed).

Admission is free. Raffle for framed print. Visitors very welcome.
