Sarah from The Crown at Stanhoe
I would like to thank everyone for their custom and friendship for the 22 years I was at The Crown. I officially retired in 2007 after foot operation No. 2. Wendy, who helped me with the catering, continues to run the kitchen. –Sarah Clowser
Sponsored cycle ride for Norfolk Churches Sept. 09
This year there was only one cyclist, me, loyally supported by Terry, who hadn’t intended to do it but, in the end, did. I’d driven to Brighton and back the previous day for my younger daughter’s wedding, so thought I might be rather tired; but the day dawned cloudless and still, and conditions were ideal, so I covered 25 miles and could have done more. Thanks to many generous friends, the enterprise raised in excess of £600, half of which goes to Norfolk Churches Trust and half to our own Fabric Fund at All Saints. – Nigel
Stanhoe Archive
The first of a series of presentations about Stanhoe’s past, in images and sound, will be on Sunday afternoon, 22nd November at 2.30pm in the Reading Room. Come along and find out what the village used to be like, for just £1 per person!
Remembrance Day
Each year, on Remembrance Sunday, a group of residents assembles at the war memorial on the Green at 12 noon. The Roll of Honour is read, the exhortation recited, and a Royal British Legion poppy wreath is laid at the memorial on behalf of the village. Please feel free to come along. This year it will take place on Sunday 8th November.
Internet Access at the Village Hall
As you are aware, negotiations have been going on with the Borough of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk for us to have a Community Information Point set up in the Reading Room. We are pleased to say that notification has just been received that our bid has been successful, and a further meeting is being planned. We hope that many residents will find this facility useful, and the Borough Council will provide publicity materials for us, so watch this space!
Stanhoe Parish Council – Vacancy for Parish Clerk/Responsible Finance Officer

There is a possibility for a site in the village which could be used for this purpose. If enough people are interested in this idea, the Parish Council will make further enquiries of the owner of the land. If interested please telephone Terry Austin (01485518033).
