Stanhoe Village Screen begins its autumn season with The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society (12A) (drama /history/romance) on Wednesday 17 October.
A writer (Lily James) forms an unexpected bond with the residents of the island of Guernsey in the aftermath of WWII, when she decides to write a book about their experiences during the war. Adapted from the novel by Annie Barrows and Mary Ann Shaffer, this is a richly layered film that encompasses a war story, a mystery tale and a love triangle.
