George Mitchley at his marriage. George Pygall Mitchley (Pygall was his mother's name) was born in Stanhoe in 1886 but moved to Parkstone, Dorset, for work, married and died there. He did, however, keep in regular touch with his parents in Stanhoe. When George's first wife Matilda died in 1919, their daughter Mary came to live with her grandmother. Mary was at Stanhoe school until George married again in 1921, when she returned to Dorset. - Edith Mitchley, née Rabbits
