How well do you know Stanhoe?

If you are visiting the village, or you are a resident who has visitors over the summer, or you just fancy doing something different, try the ‘Walking Trails of Stanhoe’, produced by The Stanhoe Archive. One is a village history trail, and other a fun quiz for children or adults, both complete with guidance notes and a map. The history trail is £3 and the quiz £2, both available from The Duck Inn, in Burnham Road, Stanhoe. You will find the answers to the quiz questions when you reach the end…..!

Stanhoe Gardens Open Day:–

Saturday 3rd June 2016 – would you like to get involved? This increasingly popular village event will take place on the afternoon of Saturday 3rd June, 2:00–5:30pm. Seven or more gardens will be open, with stalls, activities and teas available to visitors. Last year nine gardens were open and more than 220 people visited, many commented on the friendly welcome they received. This is made possible by the enthusiasm of the many volunteers who offer their time for the afternoon but we always need extra helpers! If you can spare some time to help man a stall or serve teas we would love to hear from you.

Please note new contact details: contact Anne Jackson on 01485 518 365. Proceeds from the day will go towards ongoing repair works to All Saints’ Church. Thank you!

A heartfelt thank you from Margaret Crane:–

Despite the fact that my husband had been ill for sometime, it has been difficult to cope with his sudden death on March 7th.

My family and I have been overwhelmed by the supportive and thoughtful cards and letters we have received. These, coupled with the many acts of practical support and kindness given to us by the neighbours and friends, has been quite overwhelming.

Peter Cook and members of Stanhoe Church have helped us to organise a funeral service which enabled us to say our farewells in a way that has given my family great comfort at this sad time.

I want all concerned to know just how much this wonderful support and kindness has meant to a very sad family. Thank you.
