Calling Applegates

Does anyone have information on the Applegate family in this part of Norfolk?

Readers interested in family history may remember that Angie Kitcher, who lives in Canada, has a strong Stanhoe connection through the Mitchley, Pygall and Scales families. Her Mitchley page gives some of the details.

Angie now writes:

“I would like to know if anyone in the village has any information on the Applegate family. Elizabeth Sophia Mitchley’s mother Sophia Pygall was an Applegate, born in 1821. She married John C. Pygall. I can’t seem to find any siblings for Sophia. Her parents were Henry, born 1788, and Elizabeth (Bradfield) Applegate.”

Anyone with information can contact by email.
