The Duck Inn, Stanhoe, opened for business at six o’clock on Friday 2 July 2010.

Landlord Julian Rivett said he had been granted a licence that afternoon under the same conditions as the old Crown Inn. Only after a formal consultation with village residents would there be any extension to cover outside music or later hours, he said.

28 people were booked for dinner on Friday, Julian said. The evening was certainly a busy one, with many Stanhoe residents coming in for a drink.
