A pub in June

Planning issues put back the Crown’s re-opening date.

Stanhoe’s pub will not re-open before mid-June, landlord Julian Rivett has confirmed. Work has been held up by planning delays, he says, and his current target is 15–20 June.

The revamped pub will feature Stone Age flint tools from Anabel Symington’s collection, Julian says, as well as photos of local saltmarshes to give a seaside flavour. It will also no longer be called the Crown — see our related news story for details of how you can help to choose a new name.

Julian says he has exciting plans for the revamped pub. “For instance, the caravan field is a great resource for weddings and other functions,” he says.
