The farm horses with Miggie and Chris Branch at Station Farm, Stanhoe in 1947.

Chris Branch says in 2011:
"Violet and the other farm horses were kept either on the Six-acre Pasture next to Station Road, or on the Station Pasture located behind the Back Wood and next to the Burnham Market section of railway line. The horses were no longer there in subsequent years but I can still recall the smell of the horses breath.

This metal water cart was something they had to pull to collect well water and distribute to the several isolated water troughs in the pastures. The water cart became redundant when my cousin Dick Calver installed galvanised steel water pipes linking the farm's new water tower and its well to the fields. (A water tower had to be built to store the water and provide sufficient water pressure). The old farmhouse was not connected but the new farmhouse was. Later, mains water from Stanhoe was connected in the 1990's."
