Chapel Yard, The Street, June 1981. Part of a house formerly along the roadside .The house closed the entrance from the road into the yard, except for a trackway in front of the cottages. Part of the house was demolished after the war and this part was used as a wash house etc until it too was cleared. Its last inhabitants were Mr John Wight and his wife.

The inscription on a book I recently acquired reads:
